Zoning board says no to Buckmeadow Road storage units The Zoning Board of Adjustment turned down a four-building self storage project at 34 Buckmeadow Road on a 4-1 vote, citing the rural residential zoning, the wetlands on the site and traffic near McCarthy Middle School. The Nash sets another giving record at $2.7 million The casino handed $2.7 million to 14 New Hampshire nonprofits out of July’s gaming revenue, topping the $2.4 million it gave out in June. Nashua names on the list include the Elks Crusaders, the Nashua Regional Cancer Center, the Nashua Area Artists Association and the Nashua Historical Society. Nashua Independent

A Nashua couple is up for a national title Alicia and Matty Gregg, an alderman-at-large and a Board of Public Works member, made the semifinals of Variety’s America’s Favorite Couple contest. Easterseals changes course on adult day programs Eight days after saying it would close its adult day programs in Manchester and Rochester, Easterseals New Hampshire voted to keep them open. That covers 130 seniors, plus 73 in-home clients whose care now continues under state contracts into June 2027. NHPR

Trooper and teen hurt at the state youth center A state trooper was bitten and struck in the head Thursday night while responding to a report of vandalism and threats between two juveniles at the Sununu Youth Services Center. The state called both his injuries and the juvenile’s superficial, and the child advocate says he expects to investigate. NHPR
