I know this is a bit of a controversial take, but Mondays are my favorite day of the week. Who’s with me?

It was hot, but overall, we had great weather for the Fourth of July and America’s 250th (I’ll personally take the heat over snow any day of the week). We have a couple “cool-ish” days to start this week (compared to the past few days), but temps will be back into the mid- and upper-80s later this week. Summer is HERE!

• Nashua and Manchester rank among the best-run cities in the U.S. A WalletHub study put Nashua at No. 5 and Manchester at No. 3 in the country, pointing to strong public services delivered without heavy spending per resident.

• Nashua schools set the rules for free and reduced-price meals Nashua families can apply anytime this school year for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch, with kids on SNAP or TANF qualifying automatically and a family of four earning up to about $61,000 qualifying by income. • Former state rep and Hudson woman sentenced in child exploitation case Stacie Marie Laughton, 42, of Nashua, and Lindsay Groves, 41, of Hudson, were each sentenced to decades in prison after pleading guilty to charges of sexually exploiting children. Nashua Telegraph

• Nashua man gets 6 to 12 years on drug charges Remi Barrera, 38, of Nashua, was sentenced to six to 12 years in prison after police said he made thousands of fentanyl and crack cocaine sales across the state and drove to Massachusetts to restock.
