(I do know it’s a day early and that the Fourth is tomorrow, not today, but I won’t talk to you tomorrow… so, Happy Fourth!)
First and foremost, I hope ya’ll are staying cool! Nearly 100 degrees yesterday, about 96 degrees today, and still in the 90s on Saturday the Fourth. It’s definitely a warm streak!
Also, it’s a very special Fourth of July this year. It’s the 250th anniversary of the United States (250 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed)!

What Happened Around Nashua This Week
Nashua's electric bike share hits the streets Rideable Nashua launched on June 7 with 50 electric bikes and more than 10 stations around the city. Rides cost $1.50 to unlock plus 25 cents a minute, and the code NASHUA30 gets you a free 30-minute trip to try it out.
Library renovation clears its first hurdle The Committee on Infrastructure and the Library Board of Trustees met together for the first time and approved $784,064 in design contracts to get the library overhaul started. Actual construction isn't slated to begin until fall 2027.
A Nashua kid is headed to the NBA Ebuka Okorie, who grew up in Nashua, went 17th overall to the Detroit Pistons in the June 23 draft. He's only the second player from New Hampshire ever drafted, after Concord's Matt Bonner back in 2003.

A bad charger nearly cost two people their home A failed aftermarket lithium battery charger sparked a fire on Cortez Drive around 2AM on July 1. Both people asleep inside got out safely after their smoke detectors went off, the homeowner put the fire out with an extinguisher, and the two cats made it too.

What Else Happened Around New Hampshire
A big health insurer is leaving New Hampshire's marketplace Ambetter Health will stop selling plans on the state's ACA marketplace in 2027, which affects the more than 11,600 people who have its coverage now. Those members will need to pick a new plan when open enrollment starts in November.
New Hampshire goes it alone at the D.C. state fair New Hampshire is the only New England state that sent an exhibit to the Great American State Fair on the National Mall, running through July 10. The other five states sat it out, pointing to the roughly $100,000 cost and their own anniversary events.
Family escapes an early-morning fire in Mason A barn fire, possibly sparked by lightning, spread to the house at a Wagyu cattle farm on Valley Road in Mason around 1:20AM Thursday. Everyone inside got out, though the barn was destroyed and the house left heavily damaged.
Woman killed in crash on the Everett Turnpike Theresa Douville, 69, of Hooksett died Wednesday afternoon after her SUV failed to slow for stopped traffic and set off a three-car crash on the northbound Everett Turnpike in Nashua. Other drivers and several children were checked at the hospital as a precaution.
